Yesterday, Aamir Khan admitted that wife Kiran Rao had given him an earful for making a private conversation between them public. The actor was speaking on the occasion to celebrate a decade of the release ofRang De Basanti in Mumbai.
“Kiran had told me in no uncertain terms that I should have not made public our private conversation,” Aamir said yesterday in Mumbai in the presence of Rang De Basanti’s cast Sharman Joshi, Siddharth, Atul Kulkani, Waheeda Rehman and the film’s director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
While everyone present got nostalgic about the various stages of filming Rang De Basanti, the celebration took a different turn when the film’s lead actor and superstar was asked about his remarks where he had allegedly remarked that India was becoming an intolerant country. Aamir denied saying that he had ever said that the country was becoming intolerant.
According to the actor, some people were misinformed about what he had said and they were hurt and that’s why the reacted the way they did. The actor added, “I never said that I would want to leave the country. I was born here and I will die here. In fact, I cannot stay out of India for more than two weeks as I begin to feel homesick and I feel like returning at the earliest.’
